Winter Sporting Clubs to Receive Funding Boost for 2020 Season
North Lakes Sports Club is on the search for their next round of Sporting Development Fund recipients for the 2020 winter season.
The Sporting Development Fund, now in its fourth year, has helped support over 10,500 individual players through 44 seasonal sponsorships.
“The Summer grant provided funding to six of our locally-based clubs including Deception Bay Little Athletics, Moreton Bay Cycling Club, Moreton Bay Boccia Club, North Lakes Table Tennis, Strathpine Little Athletics, and The Lakes Cricket Club,” commented Mr Tony Clarke, CSC Group Sports & Community Manager.
“We are now calling for winter sporting clubs to apply for the next round of our Sporting Development Fund, with submissions closing on Friday 31st January.
“Sporting club officials can visit our website for application criteria and to apply!”
Not-for-profit sporting clubs or associations based in divisions 4 or 7 of the Moreton Bay Regional Council are urged to apply as well as exceptional emergency support groups or of the like outside of these two division areas, which are deemed worthy.
“We are excited to see local sports grow in our community and what the 2020 winter season has in store,” added Mr Clarke.
NLSC commenced the Sporting Development Fund to sponsor local sporting clubs in early 2017, several months before the club opened its doors in May.
Additional to these cash sponsorships, North Lakes Sports Club provides in-kind support to North Lakes sporting clubs by assisting with facility operational costs at sporting facilities including Kinsellas Sports Complex, Woodside Sports Grounds and Aurora Boulevard Park.
In late 2019, North Lakes Sports Club also launched the Rising Stars Fund to assist talented and emerging athletes and coaches who have been selected to compete at high-level events in their chosen sport.
These two funding programs reflect North Lakes Sports Club’s commitment to return funds back into the local sporting community.
