Women Like Us returns for an unmissable performance
Back by popular demand, the Women Like Us comedy show returns to Caboolture Sports Club on Friday 9th November.
Mandy Nolan and Ellen Biggs take their everyday humour to new heights in this highly relatable show.
Having performed close to 100 shows to audiences across the country, Ellen say it’s the life experiences that seem to parallel those of their audiences that get the biggest response.
“We both live in Mullumbimby in Northern NSW and we're not your young inner-city groovers, but 40 something mothers of teenagers. We're wives and ex-wives,” Nolan says.
“Ellen can wrangle a snake and operate a ride on mower in the afternoon. Then by evening she dons heels and a frock and she's MCing a charity ball. We're small town showgirls and boy do we have fun on stage!”
According to Briggs, the show is a no-holes-barred, tell-it-how-it-is performance.
“We want our comedy to demystify a lot of the garbage that we’re fed about being women,” says Briggs.
“We tell everyday stories about our struggles, our failure to parent, the beauty industry, getting fatter, strange surgeries, obsessions, frustrations, and at the end of the day ‘who unpacks the dishwasher’.
Caboolture Sports Club General Manager Jamie Lancaster said the show will be presented in a dinner & show format for patrons. “Members and guests will be treated to a delicious two-course dinner prior to the show, with drink on arrival also included,” Mr Lancaster said.
“Tickets are just $60 per person, with discounts available for our Diamond, Emerald, Gold and Silver rewards level members when they book at the foyer.
“This will be a popular show and we urge patrons to secure their tickets now to avoid missing out.”
Doors open from 6pm for the Women Like Us dinner and show, with dinner served from 6.30pm and the show commencing at 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale now via www.cabsports.com.au or from the Caboolture Sports Club Foyer. For more information or to make a booking visit www.cabsports.com.au or call (07) 5497 9711.
